A Sophisticate is a Phillies Phan

The roar of the crowd. The excitement of going to a baseball game, is unparalleled. Growing up in New York I'm am definitely a Yankees fan yet, I still enjoy going to a Phillies game. Like a Sophisticate, each baseball team has their own unique characteristics.

The Phillies baseball team is the oldest, one-name, one-city franchise in all of professional American sports, dating back to 1883. They have two World Series, one in 1980 and one in 2008. They created a new stadium that is beautiful, clean, and has all of the tastes of Philadelphia including Tony Luke's Cheesesteaks, Turkey Hill Frozen Treats, The Schmitter, Planet Hoagie (not Hero's as in New York), Philadelphia Water Ice, McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon, and my personal favorite Chickie's and Pete's Crab Fries. Beyond the tradition of 'The Schmitter', crab fries, there is the  giant turkey leg to eat and enjoy during the game!

The mascot is the Philly Phanatic who is a shaggy, green, muppet type character. Although indistinguishable, like a Sophisticate the mascot is memorable and could never be duplicated. An energetic and supportive mascot, he drives his little jeep like car around the stadium and shoots Phillies shirts into the crowd.

Beyond Chickie's The best part about the Phillies? They have an all star line up with players such as Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, J.C. Ramirez, Roy Halladay, Carlos Ruiz, Jimmy Rollins, Cole Hammels, Jim Thorne, and Shane Victorino.

A Sophisticate is a Phillies Fan because in the past almost 130 years the Phillies don't always win a World Series. Even with the all star line up they are an underdog team.  Like a Sophisticate, they work hard to win every time they play with class and an all star quality to baseball as well as to the world stage. With class and a lot of  enthusiasm, there is no reason for a Sophisticate not to be a fan. In the end, a Sophisticate is a fan of the Phillies because she is truly a Phillies Phanatic! ;D
