"And I like large parties. They're so intimate. At small parties there isn't any privacy" F. Scott Fitzgerald, 'The Great Gatsby'

What is the point of a party? To celebrate an occasion and to take a momentary break from the monotony or harshness of life. A time to smile and enjoy time with friends and family. Usually there is lot's of food and beverages yet, the main element of a party is the people around and the laughter that inevitably follows.

For a Sophisticate, a party can be to celebrate a holiday or just to celebrate life and the people in her life. Sometimes a party can be to raise money for a particular cause to help others. Still, for a Sophisticate there is nothing like having the people you most love in one room or under one roof escaping the reality of life for a few hours.

Large parties or small parties, it doesn't matter. Party etiquette in the 21st Century is extra important. In a time when the economy isn't at it best, throwing or going to a party, is not a right but a privilege. The privilege of having the chance of creating memories that will last for a lifetime.

The one accessory a Sophisticate brings to a party regardless of whether she is hosting a party (Sophisti-Etiquette Tip 1: Hosting a Partyor attending a party (Sophisti-Etiquette Tip 2: Attending a Party), is appreciation. The golden rule of Sophistication at a party is gratefulness. ;D
