"Don't be afraid of death; be afraid of an unlived life. You don't have to live forever, you just have to live.” Natalie Babbitt 'Tuck Everlasting

There is nothing like death to remind you how to feel alive. While my mom was sick with ovarian cancer she would always talk to me about what she would have done differently if she had known she would have gotten sick.

When my mom first got sick,  after dealing with the pain of her loss, and the separation the next question that haunted me was 'What if I only have 30 years left to live?' If I do have only 30 years left what can I do differently?

“Read your own obituary notice; they say you live longer. Gives you second wind. New lease of life." James Joyce

After finding out about my mother, I then was in a head on collision, and finally, watched my aunt die of Breast Cancer. My desire to live my life to the fullest and care less about the 'small stuff' steadily increased.

"Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today." James Dean

When my mother died and the sadness that pervaded eight years of my life ended, I was released to the world with all the wisdom and strength my mother had given me while she lived and during her illness. With the experience of being unafraid to die (A Sophisticate is a Warrior) and the knowledge that I may only have a few decades to live, my purpose in life became clearer. All of a sudden there wasn't enough time to do everything I loved.

"Live fast, die young, and leave a good looking corpse" from the movie "Knock on Any Door" (1949)

For a Sophisticate to live forever means that there are moments in time when the world around her disappears. (A Sophisticate Dances Ballet). When a Sophisticate finds herself in a place or time where she has more energy, happier, or feels more free to be herself, faults and all (A Sophisticate is Imperfect).

No matter where she is, how does a Sophisticate knows she is in love? (A Sophisticate Falls in Love) Time stops. When she is with the person she loves is around everything around her disappears. For a few moments, time stops.

“Someone who thinks death is the scariest thing doesn't know a thing about life.”  Sue Monk Kidd, 'The Secret  Life of Bees'

How does a Sophisticate live forever? She does not fear death and lives in the present moment. How does a Sophisticate no longer fear death? She is spiritual (A Sophisticate is Spiritual) and she believes (A Sophisticate Believes).  How does she lives in the present? She does what she loves and surrounds herself with positive people.

"Only the rocks live forever" from the TV series 'Centennial' (1978)

A Sophisticate breathes, she laughs (A Sophisticate Laughs), and follows her souls purpose. She realizes that to fail at anything is the 'small stuff' in life to be forgotten and overcome (A Sophisticate Fails). In the end, a Sophisticate lives forever because she lives every day as if she will die tomorrow because someday she will. ;D
